Rainy Day Dismissal Update & Thank You!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for your cooperation and support during our rainy day dismissal.
Thanks to everyone following the new routine, the car rider line moved smoothly, and we wrapped up in under 20 minutes despite the weather conditions!
We always try to send out dismissal notifications as early as possible on rainy days. However, given how unpredictable South Louisiana weather can be, we don't always get much advance notice. We will continue to monitor the weather closely and send out updates as promptly as possible when changes occur.
As we fine-tune this process, we appreciate your continued patience while we iron out a few small kinks to make rainy dismissals as safe and efficient as possible. Please keep these quick reminders in mind for future rainy days:
Pull all the way forward: All drivers should pull all the way to the front of the line so we can load as many vehicles at once as possible.
Help keep things moving: Please remind your students to stay attentive and look out for their vehicle so we don't experience delays in the flow of traffic.
As a reminder, our district’s bus transportation system is always available to all students if the car rider line does not fit your family's schedule.

Car Riders will remain in the classroom until 2:48. Once all buses have cleared the U, Car Riders will be dismissed, and they will exit through the main building for pick up in the front under the covered areas.. Parents may pull through to the end of the U so we can load multiple students at a time. Please DO NOT block Saizan Ave. in any way.

We deeply appreciate your cooperation, patience, and commitment to keeping our school community moving smoothly. Because of your effort, our afternoon pick-up process is remarkably quick, typically taking less than 20 minutes.
To ensure safety and fairness for everyone, please remember that all car riders must be picked up inside the student parking lot following our established line procedures. Lately, we have noticed vehicles parking along the side of the road near the lot exit or along the front of the school to bypass the queue.
When drivers skip the line, it creates safety hazards for our walking students and undermines the effort of the many parents who are patiently waiting their turn. Out of respect for your fellow parents and the safety of our children, we ask everyone to follow the required pick-up routes.

*Unload Along the Fence: When stopped along the fence line, please continue our practice of unloading multiple cars simultaneously to keep the traffic flowing.
*Passenger-Side Safety: Whenever possible, please make every effort to have students exit your vehicle on the passenger side rather than stepping out into oncoming traffic.

We want to express our appreciation for your patience and support as we continue to refine our morning arrival procedures. While this morning’s drop-off was noticeably safer, our goal is to ensure the process is both safe and smooth for everyone. To help speed up traffic flow and keep our students safe, please review and follow these key guidelines:
*Passenger-Side Exit: Ensure your student exits the vehicle exclusively on the passenger side along the fence on Saizan Ave.
*Multiple Vehicle Unloading: To maximize traffic flow, multiple cars need to unload simultaneously rather than waiting to reach the front of the line.
*Be Ready to Unload: Please ensure students have their backpacks and belongings ready before your vehicle comes to a complete stop so they can exit promptly.
*Safe Pedestrian Pathways: Students should walk along the designated fence path rather than the roadway and enter campus strictly through the pedestrian walking gate, not the bus gate. Walkers should utilize the designated crosswalk area when crossing Saizan Ave.
By having several vehicles unload at the same time and ensuring students exit quickly on the curb side, we can eliminate unnecessary delays and keep the line moving efficiently.

Dear Parents and Families,
We want to share an important update regarding student drop-off procedures beginning immediately.
📍 All student drop-off will take place at the entrance gate on Saizan Avenue. Please do not drop students off at the bus exit gate.
All walkers and car riders should enter through the first gate near the main entrance and proceed onto campus from that location.
As we continue to monitor traffic flow and student movement, we are making adjustments to our procedures when we see a need. This morning, the drop-off process in the U became unsafe, so we are making this change to help create a safer and more organized arrival for everyone.
We sincerely appreciate your patience, flexibility, and cooperation as we continue to fine-tune our procedures. Our top priority is always the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff.
